NRBC Champions 1998-2002: Where Are They now?

A look back at prior years NRBC champions Mr Boomerjac (1998), Miss Tinseltown (1999), Conquistador Whiz (2000) and Smartest Chic Olena (2001) and Starlights Wrangler (2002) and where they are now.

1998 Mr Boomerjac & Dell Hendricks  

1998 Champion Mr Boomerjac earned $16,000 for the win and continued his show career, winning over $141,000 in lifetime earnings. He also went on to sire the 2006 NRHA Open Futurity Champion, Taris Designer Genes. He is now in England.

1999 Miss Tinseltown & Tim McQuay

Owned by Silva Reining Horses she has gone on to produce the successful show horses and sires, Hollywoodstinseltown and Gunners Tinseltown.  She has been inducted into the NRHA Hall of Fame and has been the NRHA’s All Time Leading Dam


2000 Conquistador Whiz & Duane Latimer 

He went on to qualify for the 2002 WEG in Jerez, Spain and helped the U.S. win a gold medal with Tom McCutcheon.  Now owned by Silver Spurs Equine, he is currently an NRHA $2 Million Sire.

2001 Smartest Chic Olena & Tom McCutcheon 

After winning the NRBC he went on to win the Saddlesmith Series Open and was 2003 USET Gold Medalist among other awards.

2002 Starlights Wrangler & Dell Hendricks

After winning the NRBC this pair was also USET Silver Medalists.  Starlights Wrangler still resides at Hendricks Reining Horses where he has become one of the newest NRHA $1 Million Sires
